DESCRIPTION:Aim\nSupport for excellent Principal Investigators at the care
 er stage at which they are already established research leaders with a rec
 ognised track record of research achievements. Principal Investigators mus
 t demonstrate the ground-breaking nature\, ambition\, and feasibility of t
 heir research proposal.\n An ERC Advanced Grant Principal Investigator is
  expected to be an active researcher and to have a track record of signifi
 cant research achievements. The scientific excellence of the research proj
 ect and the applicant’s track record are the only evaluation criteria.\n
 \nLump-sum Funding & duration\nUp to EUR 2.5 mio. for a period of 5 years\
 , including 25% overhead. For shorter project periods\, the budget will be
  applied pro rata temporis. Additional funding up to EUR 1 mio.\, includin
 g 25% overhead\, may be requested for (a) start-up costs for PIs moving to
  Switzerland as a consequence of receiving the ERC grant\, and or (b) purc
 hase of major equipment\, and/or (c) access to large facilities\, and/or (
 d) other major experimental and field work costs (excluding personnel cost
 s). For applicants relocating to the EU or a Horizon Europe Associated cou
 ntry\, additional funding for up to EUR 2 million can be requested.\nThe b
 udget submitted for evaluation must provide the details which allow the so
 und assessment of the requested resources. Payment of the lump sum contrib
 ution will be based on the work carried out and reported\, irrespective of
  the actual costs incurred.\n\nEligibility\nSupport for excellent Principa
