DESCRIPTION:Swiss Plasma Center's scientists\nMonday\, May 5 to Friday\, M
 ay 9\, 2025\nSwiss Plasma Center\, PPB Building\, EPFL\, Lausanne\nRegist
ration\n\nAs part of Fusion Week\, a global celebration of fusion energy\,
the Swiss Plasma Center and the Laboratory for Experimental Museology (eM
+) are pleased to welcome you to their immersive exhibition: Fusion\, beyo
nd Fiction: a journey into the future of energy. \n\nFor the first time\,
step into EPFL’s star\, the TCV tokamak – a machine that mimics the Su
n’s conditions on Earth. Here\, gas is heated to over 150 million degree
s\, ten times hotter than the Sun’s core. At this temperature\, atomic n
uclei fuse\, releasing vast amounts of energy. This process\, known as fus
ion\, has the potential to provide humanity with a clean\, abundant\, and
safe energy source.\n\nProgramme:\n\nJoin us daily from May 5th to May 9th
for a 30-minute guided tour\, an immersive experience open to all\, offer
ing a relaxed space for conversation\, where you’re encouraged to ask qu
estions and engage with scientists leading the way in fusion energy.\n\nEa
ch tour includes:\n\n	Immersion in the world of fusion with state-of-the-a
rt 3D glasses and data visualization inside a digital twin of the SPC toka
mak\n	A visit to the TCV tokamak\, EPFL’s fusion research device that m
imics the way the Sun works right here at the Swiss plasma center\n	A rela
xed moment of exchange in our lounge area to connect with scientists and e
xplore the future of clean energy\n\nThis experience was made possible thr
ough a groundbreaking collaboration between eM+\, the EPFL Advanced Comput
ing Hub\, and the Swiss Plasma Center\, turning terabytes of complex data
into an accessible\, interactive experience for both the public and the sc
ientific community.\n\nTours are free but space is limited. Registration i
s required.\n\nCome see the future of energy up close!
