DESCRIPTION:Important for Interested Principal Investigators (PIs):\nIf yo
 u plan to submit a proposal for this call\, you must submit the Expression
  of interest form to the Research Office by July 20 2026\nOur institutio
 n coordinates submissions because the funder limits the number of applicat
 ions per institution.\n\nGoals\n\n– Foster a change of perspective in ho
 w forests are managed\, used and valued.\n– Support solution-oriented co
 llaboration between scientists and practitioners to accelerate the uptake 
 of evidence-based approaches in forestry practice.\n– Catalyse financial
  innovation and improved framework conditions that unlock investment in su
 stainable forest management\, enabling forests that can conserve biodivers
 ity\, act as a carbon sink and supply forest products.\n\n\nThematic Focus
  of the Call\n\n	Innovative solutions for climate change adaptation and bi
 odiversity recovery that advance integrative sustainable forest management
 \, while ensuring resilient ecosystem services and the supply of sustainab
 le forest products.\n	Incentives or tools that translate the often intangi
 ble values of forest products and ecosystem services into concrete drivers
  of behavioural change towards sustainable forest management.\n	Exclusions
 :\n	\n		Projects with a focus on implementation or community development a
 nd without a clear science component. Small case studies with limited gene
 ral relevance..\n		Urban forestry.\n	\n	\n\n\n \nProject Types\n\n\n	Rese
 arch Projects \n\n\n\n	Novel\, outside-of-the-box research which demonstra
 tes high potential to shift forestry practice At least two partners from d
 ifferent organisations (e.g. universities) needed\; the second partner can
  be a stakeholder organisation Project would not be possible without invol
 ving stakeholders from the outset At least 10% of the budget to be spent o
 n knowledge transfer Focus on approaches of general interest that can be s
 caled\n\n\n\n	Science-Practice Projects\n\n	\n		Project enables the transf
 er of evidence-based forest management findings to practitioners (without 
 being an implementation project).At least two partners from different orga
 nisations\, with one partner being a stakeholder organisation.\n		Projects
  to produce specific deliverables such as tools or resources.\n		Needs upf
 ront commitment of collaborating partners.\n	\n	\n\nNeeds plans for contin
 uity beyond the project period.\n\n \nWho Can Apply\nThe exclusion criter
 ia and fundamental criteria for funding by Velux Stiftung apply. Please re
 ad carefully the criteria. \n\nAdditional criteria:\n\n\n	The PI instituti
 on needs to be from an EU member state\, Switzerland\, Norway\, Iceland\, 
 Liechtenstein\, or the UK\; an application requires at least two project p
 artners (PI and co-PI) from different institutions.\n	The PI needs to be f
 rom an academic research institution\; other partners or collaborators can
  be non-academic stakeholders such as forest owners\, practitioner associa
 tions\, NGOs\, governmental organizations\, or consulting agencies.\n	Proj
 ects dealing with all forest types\, including boreal\, temperate\, tropic
 al and subtropical forests\, are welcome\, with a focus on forests produci
 ng different goods and services.\n	At least the PI or one co-PI has to be 
 an established (R3) or leading (R4) researcher in a field relevant to the 
 project goals.\n	Each organisation or institution can submit a maximum of 
 two applications per call (in the role of institution of the PI or co-PI).
  If this limit is exceeded\, all applications from that institution will b
 e excluded.\n	Therefore\, PIs and co-PIs should contact their institution
 ’s Grants Office well in advance so that submissions from the same insti
 tution can be coordinated.\n\n\n \nDuration\n\n\n	From 1 to 4 years.\n\n\
 n \nEvaluation \nPlease refer to the funding criteria\n\n \nFunding\n\n\
 n	Maximum CHF 100\,000 per year.\n	Budget can include:\n	\n		Salaries\, tr
