DESCRIPTION:On 28 November 2012 as part of the Research Day\, the Swiss Na
 tional Science Foundation (SNSF) will be visiting EPFL to present the SNSF
 ’s funding schemes with information stands and lectures.\n\nHow does the
  Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) support research projects and yo
 ung scientists? The purpose of the Research Day is to provide answers to t
 hese questions\, particulary for junior researchers. They will receive inf
 ormation on fellowships and research grants from the SNSF as well as the r
 esearch commissions of EPFL and the University of Lausanne. Scientists who
  have gained SNSF funding will talk about their experiences. The Commissio
 n for Technology and Innovation (CTI) as well as the research platforms Eu
 research will also be represented with an information stand.\n\nAn accompa
 nying lecture will summarise the various funding schemes of the SNSF. A (p
 anel) discussion on "Evaluation: a look behind the scenes" should provide 
 interesting insights into how applications are assessed. Workshops offer t
 he opportunity to learn more about eligibility criteria and how to draft a
 pplications.\n\nResearch Day is open to researchers from all Swiss univers
 ities. It presents a perfect opportunity for gaining comprehensive informa
 tion and putting questions to the persons directly responsible. The presen
 tations will be in English\; participants can ask questions in French. Att
 endance is free\, registration is not required.
