DESCRIPTION:Call currently closed\n\nAim\nSupport for excellent Principal 
 Investigators at the career stage at which they are already established re
 search leaders with a recognised track record of research achievements. Pr
 incipal Investigators must demonstrate the ground-breaking nature\, ambiti
 on\, and feasibility of their research proposal.\n An ERC Advanced Grant 
 Principal Investigator is expected to be an active researcher and to have 
 a track record of significant research achievements. The scientific excell
 ence of the research project and the applicant’s track record are the on
 ly evaluation criteria.\n\nLump-sum Funding & duration\nUp to EUR 2.5 mio.
  for a period of 5 years\, including 25% overhead. For shorter project per
 iods\, the budget will be applied pro rata temporis. Additional funding up
  to EUR 1 mio.\, including 25% overhead\, may be requested for well justif
 ied reasons\; additional funding covers for example start-up costs for PIs
  moving to Switzerland as a consequence of receiving the ERC grant\, purch
 ase of major equipment\, access to large facilities\, other major experime
 ntal and field work costs including personnel costs. For applicants reloca
 ting to the EU or a Horizon Europe Associated country\, additional funding
  for up to EUR 2 million can be requested.\nThe budget submitted for evalu
 ation must provide the details which allow the sound assessment of the req
 uested resources. Payment of the lump sum contribution will be based on th
 e work carried out and reported\, irrespective of the actual costs incurre
 d.\n\nNew proposal format\nThe Extended Synopsis and the Scientific Propo
 sal have been rethought in terms of focus and applicants are now requested
  to submit Part I of the Scientific Proposal (setting out the background\,
  the objectives\, and the overall research strategy) and Part II of the Sc
 ientific Proposal focusing primarily on the implementation). The evaluatio
 n elements have also been adapted to reflect the abovementioned changes. S
