DESCRIPTION:The CIFAR Global Scholars Program offers early-career research
 ers the opportunity to develop and lead high-risk\, high-reward interdisci
 plinary research\, expand their professional networks and receive focused 
 leadership training in their pivotal first years as independent investigat
 ors.\nCIFAR welcomes applications from candidates across the natural\, bio
 medical\, and social sciences\, as well as the humanities. Successful appl
 icants join one of CIFAR’s interdisciplinary research programs\, collabo
 rating with global research leaders to advance transformative knowledge an
 d address some of the most important questions facing science and humanity
 \n\nIn 2025/2026\, the following CIFAR research programs are accepting app
 lications:\n \n\n	Child & Brain Development\n	CIFAR MacMillan Multiscale 
 Human\n	Future Flourishing\n	Humanity’s Urban Future\n	Learning in Machi
 nes & Brains\n	Quantum Materials\n\n\nAwardees remain at their home instit
 ution throughout their two-year term. The research funding associated with
  the award is administered through the recipient’s institutional departm
 ent.\n\nFunding: CAD $100\,000\n\nDuration: 2 years\n\nEligibility: Applic
 ants may be based anywhere in the world\, must hold a PhD (or equivalent) 
 and be within the first five years of starting a full-time position at an 
 institution of higher education or research\, with responsibilities that i
 nclude both conducting an independent research program and supervising/tea
 ching trainees toward the completion of a degree.\nPostdoctoral fellows ar
 e NOT eligible to apply to this program.\n\nHow to Apply: Applications are
