DESCRIPTION:PhD Students / doctorantes et doctorants\nThis year some thir
 ty EPFL doctoral students have entered the Ma thèse en 180 secondes (MT18
 0) competition.\n\nIn three minutes\, each student will present his or her
  research topic in simple terms to a non-specialist audience\, in French o
 r English. The aim of this popularization exercise is to present a clear\,
  concise and  yet compelling explanation of their research project\, supp
 orted by a single slide !\n\nThe selections are open to the public and tak
 e place on 21\, 29 and 30 January. Unlike the final\, the selections are 
 not recorded for the public. Colleagues\, friends\, families\, thesis dire
 ctors\, come to listen to them and encourage them!\n\nIMPORTANT:\n\n	Openi
 ng of doors to the public: 12:00 to 12:15\n	Selections begin at 12:15\n	Th
 e public arriving after 12:15 is asked to wait outside so that presenters 
 are not disturbed. If the door is closed\, we will open between presentati
 ons but please try to be on time for the beginning.\n\nFourteen participan
 ts will be selected by the jury for the EPFL final which will take place o
