DESCRIPTION:Constantin Pape\, Göttingen University \nRegistration\n\nThi
s workshop will teach how to apply Segment Anything for Microscopy to your
own data.\n\nTo this end\, we will explore the different capabilities of
the method for interactive and automatic segmentation in (volumetric) imag
e data for light and electron microscopy. We will first test the tool on s
ample data and then try it out on the data participants bring to the work
shop. Finally\, we will cover advanced applications\, such as (interactive
ly) segmenting large amounts of data in a high-throughput fashion or fine-
tuning models for specific analysis tasks.\n\nThis talk will be given by P
rof. Constantin Pape\, head of the Computational Cell Analytics research g
roup at the Institute of Computer Science at Georg August University Gött
ingen and a member of the Campus Institute for Data Science (CIDAS). His r
esearch focuses on image processing methods with applications in biology a
nd medicine. Prior to joining Göttingen\, he was a postdoctoral fellow at
EMBL Heidelberg. His main research interests include machine learning and
deep learning\, which he applies primarily to microscopy image analysis.
He also works on the processing and visualization of large-scale image dat
asets. His work is strongly interdisciplinary\, involving close collaborat
ion with biologists and medical professionals.\n\nRegistration required\n\
nAbout the Imaging Lunches: Once per month\, the EPFL Center for Imaging
organises an event dedicated to all PhD students and postdocs working with
/in imaging. Discuss the latest advances in imaging. Connect with imaging
peers. Learn about popular imaging tools!
