DESCRIPTION:Speakers : The list of speakers will be announced shortly. Mod
erator : Mélissa Anchisi \n-ACTION WEEK AGAINST RACISM-\n\nRacial and Di
scriminatory Bias in Generative AI: Text\, Images and the Politics of Repr
 esentation\nRound Table (60' + 10' Q&A)\n\nWhen : Tue 24 March 2026\nWhere
  : Forum\, Rolex Learning Center\nTime : 17:30 - 19:30 (with an Apéro at
the end)\nOpen to all\n\nThis event is a collaboration between the Equal O
pportunity Office (VPH-WINC-DEI) and the AI Center\n\nThe roundtable will
explore how generative AI systems\, including large language models (LLM)
and image-generation tools\, increasingly shape representations of people\
, identities\, and social groups. Through textual\, visual\, and multimoda
l outputs\, these systems may reproduce or amplify racial stereotypes\, di
scriminatory patterns and forms of exclusion. While often perceived as neu
tral technologies\, they embed social\, cultural\, and political assumptio
ns that call for critical examination.\n\nThe discussion will begin with a
short introductory overview of generative AI to ensure a shared foundatio
n for the audience. The conversation will then address issues related to t
he models themselves\, particularly the ways in which they reproduce\, and
at times intensify\, existing social realities such as racism\, stereotyp
es and discrimination. For this edition\, the focus will primarily be on r
acial bias.\n\nWe aim to bring together complementary perspectives\, inclu
 ding:\n\n	Ethical considerations\n	Legal perspectives\n	Professional and t
echnical viewpoints (practical cases or reflections linked to teaching and
  model development)\n	Contributions from civil society\n\nSpeakers :\n\n\n

Administration (IDHEAP)\n	Dr. Anna Sotnikova\, Natural Language Processin
