DESCRIPTION:Aim: Schmidt Sciences invites proposals for the Science of Tru
 stworthy AI program\, which supports technical research that improves our 
 ability to understand\, predict\, and control risks from frontier AI syste
 ms while enabling their trustworthy deployment.\n\nThe research agenda has
  three connected aims:\n\n	Aim 1: Characterize and forecast misalignment i
 n frontier AI systems\n	Aim 2: Develop generalizable measurements and inte
 rventions\n	Aim 3: Oversee AI systems with superhuman capabilities and add
 ress multi-agent risks\n\nPreference will be given to proposals from colla
 borations among multiple PIs and labs. Applicants are invited to apply to 
 either or both funding tiers (see below). Applicants may submit more than 
 one proposal to each tier.\n\nFunding        Tier 1: Up to $1M\n  
                       Tier 2: $1-5M\n\nDuration:   
    1-3 years\n\nEligibility: Schmidt sciences invites individual researc
 hers\, research teams\, research institutions\, and multi-institution coll
 aborations across universities\, national laboratories\, institutes\, and 
 non-profit research organizations. They are open globally and encourage co
 llaborations across geographic boundaries. However\, the recipient of fund
 ing must hold a 501(c)(3) designation or equivalent.\n\nHow to Apply: Requ
 ests for proposals can be submitted via the Application Portal. You will b
 e asked to provide Background information\, a Project overview\, Milestone
 s and outcomes\, Team CVs\, as well as a Budget and optional computation r
 equest. Budgets should include overhead of 11.1% of total direct costs (or
