 bstract\nThe lecture will be based on entropy methods for nonlinear diffus
 ion equations with two main goals: 1. A review of various results of symme
 try for the optimizers of nonlinear interpolation inequalities and a class
 ification of some phase transitions between symmetry and symmetry breaking
  regimes\; 2. Constructive methods for stability results in functional ine
 qualities\, including explicit results à la Bianchi-Egnell for Sobolev\, 
 log-Sobolev and related functional inequalities. Most of these results are
  based on a nonlinear carré du champ method.
