DESCRIPTION:To promote research and education in cyber-defence\, EPFL\, th
 e Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne\, and the Cyber-Defenc
 e (CYD) Campus have jointly launched the “CYD Fellowships – A Talent P
 rogram for Cyber-Defence Research”. There are two calls per year and the
  14th call is now open.\nCYD Fellowships are designed to promote new solut
 ions to major challenges in the fields of security and data science by bri
 nging together basic and applied research. They are open to researchers at
  master\, doctoral\, or postdoctoral level who are willing to engage with 
 innovative issues in cyber-defence\, with a particular emphasis on:\n\n	Pr
 otection of confidentiality\, integrity\, and availability of cyber and cy
 ber-physical systems.\n	Information sharing\, data fusion and crowdsourcin
 g.\n	Data science & AI methods for analysing cyber- and technology-relevan
 t data.\n	Security\, privacy and digital trust technologies.\n\nA list of 
 prioritized topics can be found in the call guidelines.\n\nWho can apply:\
 n\n\n	CYD fellows must be hosted by a higher education institution in Swit
 zerland and must conduct their research at the CYD Campus located on the p
 remises of EPFL and ETHZ and in its office in Thun.\n	CYD Proof of Concept
  fellows should be hosted by a Swiss higher education research center\, th
 eir own startup based in Switzerland or at the EPFL Innovation Park.\n	Cit
 izens of any nationality may apply.\n	No age restrictions apply.\n\n\nFund
 ing and duration:\n\n\n	CYD Master Thesis Fellowships: living allowance an
 d research funds for 6 months.\n	CYD Doctoral Fellowships: salary and rese
 arch & conference funds for 4 years (with a possible 1-year extension).\n	
 CYD Distinguished Postdoctoral Fellowships: salary and research & conferen
 ce funds for (up to) 2 years.\n	CYD Proof of concept fellowships: personne
 l and/or development costs for 12 months.\n\n\nDeadlines:\n\n\n	19 August 
 2026 (17:00 CEST) for Doctoral and Distinguished Postdoctoral Fellowship a
