CATEGORIES:Call for proposal
DESCRIPTION:The Swiss Quantum Call 2026\, part of the Swiss Quantum Initia
tive (SQI)\, will support outstanding quantum research projects with stron
g scientific excellence and long-term societal and technological impact. A
n estimated CHF 16 million is available\, subject to approval of Relief Pa
ckage 27.\n\nFunding is open to independent research projects in:\n\n	quan
 tum communication\, \n	quantum computation\, \n	quantum simulation\,\n	qua
ntum sensing/metrology.\n\nProjects advancing key enabling technologies—
such as quantum materials\, hardware and software\, quantum theory\, quant
um information theory\, and computer science for quantum technologies—ar
e also eligible.\n\nEligibility requirements and special features of the c
all:\n\n\n	The call follows the general principles of the SNSF’s Project
Funding scheme.\n	Researchers based in Switzerland are eligible for fundi
ng if they meet the eligibility requirements.\n\nThe differences with rega
rd to regular SNSF Project Funding are as follows:\n\n\n	Applicants should
highlight the long-term impact of their research beyond academia. The cal
l primarily supports projects at low to intermediate Technology Readiness
Levels (TRLs).\n	Early-career researchers are strongly encouraged to apply
and have equal chances of success as established researchers.\n	In projec
ts with three or more applicants\, an international collaborator may parti
cipate if their expertise is indispensable and not available in Switzerlan
d.\n	Projects may request up to CHF 400\,000 for equipment\, and up to 40%
of the grant may be allocated to project partners and subcontractors.\n\n
IMPORTANT: A grant awarded under the Swiss Quantum Call 2026 does not cou
nt towards the limit of concurrent grants in SNSF Project Funding.\n\nThe
call aims to strengthen application-oriented quantum research\, support ea
 rly-career researchers\, foster collaboration\, and address infrastructure
needs. Proposals must be submitted via the SNSF Portal\; applicants are a
dvised to create an account well before the deadline.\n\nFor full details
on eligibility\, submission\, and evaluation\, please refer to the call do
cument. General SNSF regulations also apply.\n\nSubmission deadline: 01.0
