Th e presentation on the Chliriet Secondary School explores how spatial layou t\, landscape\, architectural design\, and color schemes can shape everyda y school life. The long\, narrow wooden building frames a spacious schooly ard featuring the existing multipurpose hall. The classrooms face the open landscape\, while the hallways and group rooms offer views of the schooly ard. The colorful interior creates a vibrant and distinctive learning envi ronment.\n\nElli Mosayebi\, EMI Architekt*innen\nElli Mosayebi’s career is defined by the close relationship between practice\, research\, and tea ching. Since 2004\, she has co-directed the Zurich-based office EMI Archit ekt*innen with Ron Edelaar and Christian Inderbitzin. In 2018\, she was ap pointed Professor of Architecture and Design at ETH Zurich. Her research f ocuses on load-bearing natural stone construction and the transformation o f housing and residential architecture. These themes also shape her archit ectural practice\, which links design research to changing social\, cultur al\, and material conditions in contemporary architecture and building.\n\ nPart of School Lecture Series\, Autumn 2026\, Learning Vol.1\nWe are tol d that learning is no longer confined to the school or the university\, bu t it has become a continuous process that involves the totality of life. Y et in accepting this reality\, we take for granted several questions that loom large within the contemporary idea of learning. In a time when techno logy and information are ubiquitous\, does it still make sense that for le arning to happen or be confined within a place? Is learning still an asymm etrical relationship where there are teachers and a student? And above all \, is learning accessible\, or has it become too expensive a commodity? In this lecture series\, we’ll attempt to answer these questions by invest igating learning on different levels such as technology\, construction sys tems\, educational spaces\, and above all\, making architecture. Indeed\, the question that is more than anything else crucial to us is whether arch itecture is still a place of learning and not only of empowering those who have capital to build it. We will look at schools\, drawings\, robots\, a nd measuring devices.
