DESCRIPTION:The Foundation offers funding for projects\, congresses and e
 vents that aim to increase the public understanding of science and scient
 ific thinking in Switzerland.\n\n\nRestriction : The Foundation does no
 t grant additional costs for projects already funded by SNSF\, ERC or si
 milar agencies\, and does not cover institutional overheads\; infrastruc
 ture must be provided by the applicant.\n\n \n\n\n	PUBLIC UNDERSTANDING O
 F SCIENCE\n\n\n\n	For what:  Activities and projects in Switzerland tha
 t strengthen the public understanding of scientific thinking. (Overheads a
 re not covered.)\n	How much: Grants are typically around CHF 10\,000 o
 r CHF 50\,000\, and rarely exceed CHF 100\,000.\n	Duration: Projects are 
 approved for a maximum of 3 years. A longer project requires a subsequent 
 extension proposal.\n\n\n \n\n\n	CONGRESSES\n\n\n\n	For what: Congresses
  and events that increase the public understanding of science and scientif
 ic thinking in Switzerland\n	How much: Typically around CHF 10\,000 or CH
 F 50\,000\; rarely above CHF 100\,000.\n\n\n\nDEADLINE: 1st October at 1
  p.m. CET.\nDecision: end of November.\n\nApplication: Submit your applica
 tion in English or German\, as a single PDF-document\, via the online appl
 ication form on the Cogito Foundation website. Guidelines and Rules and
  Regulations for applicants.\n\nSelection process:\n\n\n	ELIGIBILITY CHECK
 : the executive committee of the Foundation Council checks if the applicat
 ion is in line with the goals of the Foundation and immediately informs 
 the applicant if this is not the case.\n	EVALUATION: proposals passing the
  eligibility check are submitted to the Foundation Council.\n	 \n\n\nFor
