 film is set in a mystical\, misty landscape that could be Mars or an unkno
 wn planet\, but it is actually a theater set. Three scientists discuss the
  challenges of space research\, the latest discoveries\, and imaginary wor
 lds.\n\nDidier Queloz\, winner of the Nobel Prize in Physics for the disco
 very of exoplanets\, speaks with Camille Bonvin\, a cosmologist\, and Viol
 aine Sautter\, a planetary geologist and member of NASA’s Curiosity and 
 Perseverance missions. The conversation\, centered around a thermos\, camp
 ing mugs\, and a picnic\, draws a connection to Ray Bradbury’s short sto
 ry A Million-Year Picnic (1946)\, part of his *The Martian Chronicles*: a 
 family must leave Earth and finds its own reflection while searching for M
 artians.\n\nEven today\, the question remains: What do we learn about ours
 elves when we look at Mars? What kind of life—past or future—are we se
 arching for in space? This film is the result of a collaborative\, interdi
 sciplinary creative process that took place at the Théâtre Vidy-Lausanne
  in 2024.\n\nAFTER THE SCREENING:\nFollowing the screening\, there will be
  a discussion between director Pauline Julier and Eric Vautrin\, playwrigh
 t at the Vidy Theater.\n\n---\nBiography of Pauline Julier\nPauline Julier
  (b. 1981\, Geneva) is an artist and filmmaker whose practice explores the
  connections humans forge with the world around them through stories\, rit
 uals\, knowledge\, and images. Weaving together documentary\, theoretical\
 , and fictional elements\, her films and installations reflect the complex
 ity of human relationships with their environments and foster a dialogue b
 etween science and myth to renew our perspective on the world.\n\nHis work
 s have been exhibited at major contemporary art centers\, institutions\, a
 nd festivals around the world\, including the Centre Pompidou (Paris)\, th
 e IAC (Villeurbanne)\, the Loop Festival (Barcelona)\, Visions du Réel (N
 yon)\, Wiels (Brussels)\, the Centre d’Art Contemporain (Geneva)\, the Z
 KM (Karlsruhe)\, Tokyo Wonder Site\, the Museum of Modern Art (Tanzania)\,
  the Palazzo Grassi (Venice)\, as well as in New York\, Madrid\, Berlin\, 
 Zagreb\, the TIFF Cinematheque (Toronto)\, and the Pera Museum (Istanbul).
 \n\nA two-time recipient of the Swiss Art Prize (2010\, 2021) and the “M
 ondes Nouveaux” grant from the French Ministry of Culture (2022)\, her s
 olo exhibition *Naturalis Historia* toured internationally after its openi
 ng at the Swiss Cultural Center in Paris (2017). She presented a major sol
 o exhibition at the Aargauer Kunsthaus in 2024 and is currently completing
  her first feature-length fiction film\, *Les Indes*\, scheduled for relea
