DESCRIPTION:Allen Knutson (Cornell University)\nGiven a circle action S on
  a projective variety X\, we introduce the "stable map quotient" using Kon
 tsevich's space of stable maps of curves. In the case that X is a Richards
 on variety (the intersection of a Schubert with an opposite Schubert varie
 ty)\, generally very singular\, the quotient is nonetheless smooth! I'll u
 se this to give a log resolution of Richardson varieties\, and describe th
 e dual simplicial complex to the anticanonical sncd boundary.
