DESCRIPTION:The European Partnership FOREST (FOrests\, forestry\, and the 
 forest-based sector: REsearch and innovation for a Sustainable Transition)
  has launched its first Joint Call for transnational research and innovati
 on projects. The SNSF is joining this initiative to support research and i
 nnovation towards a sustainable forest bioeconomy\, focusing on forest res
 ilience\, sustainable management and innovative forest-based products and 
 value chains.\n\nThe call supports transnational research and innovation\,
  from fundamental to applied research and\, where appropriate\, demonstrat
 ion activities. Projects are expected to generate new knowledge\, develop 
 practical solutions and contribute to implementation in policy\, managemen
 t or industry contexts.\n\nFour Topics:\n\n	Climate-resilient forest syste
 ms\n	Adaptive and multifunctional forest management systems\n	Timber and i
 nnovative wood-based products\n	 Forest value chains\, markets and govern
 ance\n\n\nRequirements for Swiss Applicants:\n\n	Funding is provided by th
 e participating national or regional Research Funding Organisations\, acco
 rding to their respective funding rules.\n	Swiss-based applicants must mee
 t the eligibility requirements for SNSF Project Funding.\n	An administrati
 ve application must also be submitted to the SNSF portal by the same deadl
 ine as the application to the FOREST Call Office.\n	Applicants are strongl
 y encouraged to contact the SNSF Administrative Offices in advance\,\n\n\n
 The submission deadlines:\n\n\n	Pre-proposal deadline: 2 December 2026\, 1
 3:00 CET (FOREST Call Office)\n	Full-proposal deadline: 2 June 2027\n	Expe
 cted project start: First half of 2028\n\n\nProject Requirements:\n\n	A co
 nsortium must include at least three independent legal entities from three
  different EU Member States / Horizon Europe Associated Countrie\, includ
 ing at least two countries eligible for EU funding.\n	There is no overall 
 maximum number of partners.\n	For Switzerland\, SNSF anticipates funding 
 ca. 2 projects under this call.\n	For Swiss applicants: Grant up to CHF 6
