DESCRIPTION:Dr. Zhixing Chen\, Associate Professor\, College of Future Te
chnology\, Peking University\nAbstract:\n\nLive-cell imaging technology is
advancing into the era of dynamic super-resolution imaging of organelles
and specific proteins\, placing new demands on the optical properties of f
luorescent probes. Traditional live-cell fluorescent probes face two criti
cal technical challenges:\n\n	How to make fluorescent probes brighter and
more photostable.\n	How to make fluorescent probes gentler to minimize the
photodamage of organelles.\n\nBased on the fundamental principles of phot
ochemistry and biochemistry\, we have developed a new generation of live-c
ell imaging probes that far surpass traditional probes in brightness\, pho
tostability\, and biocompatibility. These probes enable long-term super-re
solution imaging of mitochondria\, insulin vesicle secretion\, plasma memb
rane dynamics\, lysosomes\, and more. Our representative achievements incl
ude: The PK Mito and PK Zinc dye series\, widely used in mitochondrial and
insulin secretion imaging. The BD series of novel fluorophores\, in conju
nction with self-labeling tags\, offer general protein labeling strategie
s with superior optical properties compared to fluorescent proteins.\n\n==
 ================================================\n\nBrief Biography:\n\nDr
 . Zhixing Chen\, Associate Professor\nCollege of Future Technology\nPeking
University\n\nDr. Zhixing Chen is a tenured associate professor at the Co
llege of Future Technology\, Peking University. He received his BS from Ts
inghua University in 2008 and his PhD from Columbia University in 2014. He
subsequently completed postdoctoral training at Columbia University in 20
15 and at Stanford University from 2016 to 2018.\nThe Chen Lab at Peking U
niversity was established in 2018. The lab endeavors to integrate chemistr
y and biochemistry to develop new imaging tools with high brightness\, spe
cificity\, and biocompatibility\, with the goal of advancing bioimaging te
chnologies and enabling new approaches in cell biology\, metabolism\, and
 biophysics.\n\nWebsite: https://zhixingchenlab.mysxl.cn/
