DESCRIPTION:Prof. Anders Hagfeldt\nAbstract\nGiven how AI is transforming
the processes and methods of doing research today one may ask what AI is n
ot capable of. Perhaps the unplanned discoveries that could not be mined o
r combined from existing data and knowledge are examples that will always
go beyond AI models and agents. Classical scientific findings are of cours
e Fleming´s discovery of penicillin and the use of x-rays by Röntgen. In
this talk I will describe two discoveries in solar cell research that I d
oubt would have been proposed by AI\, viz. dye-sensitized and perovskite s
olar cells. The present status of the two technologies as well as some fut
ure outlook will also be discussed.\n
