DESCRIPTION:Dr. Anthony Sauve Associate Professor of Pharmacology\, Weill
 Cornell College of Medicine\, New York City\, NY\, USA\nNAD is a fundament
al biological cofactor that is central to metabolic transformations and to
energy homeostasis. Signaling enzymes such as sirtuins\, which use NAD a
s a substrate\, are regulated by dynamic fluctuations in NAD and nicotinam
ide levels in cells\, thereby controlling fundamental processes such as st
ress resistance\, DNA repair and metabolic reprogramming. The Sauve labor
atory investigates the chemistries of NAD and sirtuins in detail and devel
ops novel chemical tools to manipulate these targets in cells. One eventu
al aim is to develop new approaches to alter cell and tissue biology for t
 herapeutic benefit.
