 t of conjugation spaces and conjugation\nmanifolds\, as defined by Hausman
 n\, Holm\, and Puppe. Roughly speaking they are\neven dimensional spaces (
 or manifolds) equipped with an involution such that their mod\ntwo cohomol
 ogy is isomorphic to that of the fixed points after dividing degrees by tw
 o.\nThe main problem to which I will try to give some answers is that of r
 ealizing a given\nspace as fixed points of a conjugation space. This is jo
 int work with Wolfgang Pitsch.
