 see their healthcare costs outpace GDP growth. To revert this situation\, 
 several public and private initiatives were taken in the last years to mak
 e healthcare more cost efficient. The Continua Health Alliance and the Wir
 eless-Life Science Alliance mobilize over 200 companies investigating oppo
 rtunities to use wireless technologies to advance the delivery of healthca
 re. The body sensor network is a key building block in most eHealth scenar
 ios. But what is it exactly and why is it taking so long before we see any
  wider proliferation of this technology? In this talk\, we will zoom in on
  emerging applications of body sensor networks and address the challenges 
 to overcome. This leads us to identification of technology trends in human
  interfaces\, low power technology and energy harvesting.
