DESCRIPTION:\n	Xu Wang\n\n	School of Life Sciences\, The Chinese Universit
y of Hong Kong\n\nNitrogen is an important nutrient and signal for plant g
rowth and development. However\, to date\, our knowledge of how plants sen
se and transduce the nitrogen signals is very limited. To better understan
d the molecular mechanisms of plant nitrogen responses\, both gel- and mas
s spectrometry- based proteomic approaches were used to profile the protei
ns with abundance and phosphorylation state changes during nitrate depriva
tion and recovery in Arabidopsis thaliana. Many biological pathways such a
s Ca2+ signaling\, phytohormone signaling\, and processes of gene expressi
on were found to be under tight regulation by phosphorylation in response
to nitrate stimulation. Taken together\, our work provided new insights in
to plant nutrient response and signaling.
