DESCRIPTION:The Cooperation & Development Center (CODEV) at EPFL is pleas
 ed to announce the Call for Applications for the Certificate of Advanced S
 tudies in Management of Development Projects (MaDePro).\nThis program prop
 oses an integrated and interdisciplinary approach and targets professional
 s in both Northern and Southern countries who wish to pursue a career in d
 evelopment or international cooperation and/or individuals from government
 \, NGOs\, IOs\, IGOs\, or the private sector:\ni) who want to broaden thei
 r understanding of development issues\;\nii) acquire tools to assess and m
 anage development projects\;\niii) combine important elements of developme
 nt and management.\nThe program is based on the North-South scientific par
 tnership. It gives participants an opportunity to improve their knowledge 
 in such aspects as Development\, Technology and Project Management directl
 y linked to the reality and actual experience of the field in such a “he
 terogeneous” country as India where poverty co-exists alongside vast sci
 entific expertise and local know-how. The training provides a chance to sh
 are the different standpoints and experiences of Europe and Asia.\nThe pro
 gram is structured in three parts\, all which are compulsory. Part 1 (30 S
 eptember - 2 March 2014) involves 20 weeks of e-Learning covering such asp
 ects as: International Environment\, Sustainable Development\, Main Develo
 pment Issues\, Technology for Development\, Entrepreneurship and Innovatio
 n\, Project Management. Part 2 (17-30 March 2014)\, is full time\, lasts 2
  weeks and will be held in India and will focus on field activities. Part 
 3 (31 March – 15 June 2014)\, consists of an individual project.\nThe pr
 ogram uses a wide range of tools including: e-Learning\, lectures\, field 
 trips\, case studies\, group work\, individual project\, etc.\nApplicants 
 must have a university degree and very good English.\nFull and/or partial 
 grants may be offered to participants from developing and emerging countri
 es that are not able to meet the total costs involved.  Note that grants 
 either full or partial will not cover the cost of travel to/from India.\nF
