DESCRIPTION:Prof. M. Bierlaire\, Dr M. Thémans et al.\nAfter two years of
  existence\, the Transportation Center (TraCE)\, with almost 40 affiliated
  laboratories\, is proud of having achieved a very good track record regar
 ding research in the fields of transportation and mobility within EPFL. Ma
 ny collaborations have been established with both industry partners and pu
 blic entities\, leading to a dozen research projects currently underway\, 
 and about thirty others in negotiation. We celebrate this second anniversa
 ry with a Research Day\, where a panorama of the concrete results of our p
 rojects will be highlighted. The day will be opened by Prof. Benoît Devea
 ud-Plédran\, Dean of Research\, who will present the new perspectives for
  research at EPFL.  Doctoral students working in the framework of projects
  initiated by TraCE will thus have the opportunity to present their work. 
 Sessions will revolve around three major themes: Intelligence in transport
 ation\, Frontiers in logistics and Moving about in the city of the future.

 ssion will also be open during the Standing lunch. We regard this "Researc
 h day" as an opportunity to inform the EPFL community more widely on the a
 dded value that transportation research brings to our school. Thus this ev
 ent benefits from the joint support of both VPIV and VPAA.
