DESCRIPTION:Dr. Ton Engbersen\, IBM Zurich Research Laboratory\nBio: Ton E
 ngbersen has been with the IBM Research Laboratory since 1980. His career 
 spanned such diverse areas as Image processing\, chip design\, communicati
 ons technology\, server technology\, legacy management and Innovation in O
 utsourcing. Throughout the years he has held a range of management positio
 ns in Research and Development in Switzerland and in the US. A member of t
 he IBM Academy of Technology he led the European branch from 2009-2011. Cu
 rrently he is the Scientific Director for the ASTRON-IBM Center of Exascal
 e Technology\, and leading the DOME Project (http://www-03.ibm.com/press/u
 s/en/pressrelease/37361.wss ) in addition he is managing the Energy Manage
 ment Research Project in the Zurich Research Laboratory. Ton holds an EE M
 aster from Eindhoven University\, Netherlands and a PhD from the Swiss Fed
 eral Institute of Technology\, Zurich.\nGlobal Technology Outlook - what i

 ology Outlook is the yearly prediction of IBM Research of the Future of IT
  and how this will impact Businesses around the World. It has e.g. predict
 ed such emerging trends as virtual server security\, optimized systems\, p
 ervasive connectivity and the rising importance of data and analytics. For
  the first time since many years\, this year it concludes that a major eve
 nt in the history of IT might be upon us\, is the confluence of Social\, M
 obile\, Cloud\, and Big Data & Analytics a similar remarkable event as the
  introduction if the Personal Computer or the World Wide Web? What is the 
 right way to approach Mobile at a Business level\, how will future IT Inst
 allations cope with the rapidly varying requirements\, how will IT allow B
 usinesses to become more flexible in setting up whole business process cha
 ins? How to deal with the massive amount of data\, even when we have excel
 lent analytics? And\, are our current educations systems still adequate?\n
