DESCRIPTION:Dr. Christoph Boeckle\nAttempts to simulate flows around a bod
y in exterior domains are met with the difficulty of treating the non-boun
dedness of the fluid domain. By truncating at an arbitrary distance from t
he body\, artificial boundaries are introduced\, for which one must provid
e boundary conditions. In the case where the domain is a half-plane and th
e flow stationary\, I will describe Dirichlet boundary conditions based on
the asymptotic expansion for the solution\, and I will compare it with ot
her possible choices of boundary conditions. This research is based on my
thesis conducted under the supervision of Prof. Peter Wittwer\, UniGE.
