R\nThe extraordinary excitement over the scientific\, medical\, and financ
ial possibilities of stem cell research has been accompanied by ethical co
ncerns. As a consequence\, professional groups have developed approaches t
o addressing these concerns across the continuum of stem cell research\, f
rom bench to bedside and to publication. Understanding and implementing su
ch approaches promises to mitigate some of the ethical issues related to s
 tem cell research and treatment.
