DESCRIPTION:Carl Mautner (Bonn)\nSymplectic singularities and resolutions
are complex algebraic varieties with close connections to representation t
heory. Much work is currently being done to study these varieties and asso
ciated algebras defined over the complex numbers.\nBraden-Licata-Proudfoot
-Webster have observed that there appears to be a duality (symplectic dual
ity) on the set of such varieties\, which manifests itself in Koszul duali
ties of the associated C-algebras.\nI will outline a dream for associating
to symplectic singularities a different class of algebras\, defined over
the integers.  I expect that symplectic duality will correspond to Ringel
duality for these new algebras.  I will discuss the case of hypertoric v
arieties\, for which this dream is a reality (joint work with Tom Braden)\
, and the case of nilpotent cones (joint work with Pramod Achar).
