 arametrize nodal hyperbolic surfaces. I will discuss the homotopy of these
  spaces\, and also of their generalization where the surface has a geodesi
 c boundary. In particular\, we recover a generalization of the Moore-Seibe
 rg theorem on conformal blocks.
