 er and easier to compute in examples than that resulting by stratification
  theory\, it nevertheless encodes many important topological properties of
  the map f. We show this by discussing two applications of this notion: on
 e related with the calculus of constructible functions and the MacPherson 
 Euler local obstruction\, the other giving a general strategy to prove sup
