 A)Abstract:\nInappropriate activation of the Hedgehog signaling is a leadi
 ng cause of medulloblastoma and pharmacological targeting of Hedgehog down
 stream components represents a promising therapeutic strategy. This semina
 r will discuss how Hedgehog promotes polyamine biosynthesis by engaging a 
 non-canonical axis leading to ODC translation. This process is governed by
  AMPK\, which phosphorylates CNBP in response to Hedgehog activation. Nota
 bly\, elevated CNBP\, ODC and polyamines are hallmarks of Hedgehog-depende
 nt medulloblastoma and inhibition of ODC with DFMO efficiently blocks Hedg
 ehog-dependent proliferation of medulloblastoma cells. Together\, these da
 ta illustrate an unexpected auxiliary mechanism of metabolic control by a 
 morphogenic pathway with relevant implications in cancer therapy.Bio:\nD.
