DESCRIPTION:Burkhard Ludewig\, Kantonsspital St-Gallen\, Institute of Immu
nology\, St-Gallen \nSecondary lymphoid organs (SLOs) develop during embry
onic life through tightly regulated interactions between hematopoietic lym
phoid tissue inducer and stromal organizer cells. Moreover\, stromal cells
critically determine immune reactivity of hematopoietic cells throughout
adult life. In this seminar\, I will present a revised concept for SLO dev
elopment and novel tools for the dissection of hematopoietic-stromal cell
 interactions in vivo.
