DESCRIPTION:! Abstract submission deadline prolonged till 20th of October 
 2014\, 12 pm !\nThe SV postdoc association and the BioScience Network Laus
 anne are gladly continuing our collaboration with the Novartis Institute f
 or Biomedical Research (NIBR) in Basel: the Novartis-EPFL-UNIL (NEU) Meeti
 ng. The second NEU meeting will take place on the 8th of December 2014 in 
 Basel.\nThe aim of this meeting is to promote interactions among researche
 rs conducting similar types of research in academia and in industry. PhD s
 tudents and postdocs will have the opportunity to present their work\, get
  feedback from NIBR scientists\, hear about possible collaborations with N
 IBR\, learn about their research and attend exclusive lab-visits at NIBR. 
 We encourage you to present the dificulties in your project allowing for d
 iscussion with the NIBR scientists and opening up possible collaborations 
 with them which might lift you project to another level. Please note that 
 this meeting is not meant to be a job fair.\nThe tentative layout of the d
 ay is as follows:\n• arrival to Basel at 9 AM (costs of transportation i
 s on the participants)\n• presentations from EPFL/UNIL scientists (3 tal
 ks each of 25 min)\n• lunch break and poster session (27 posters from ou
 r side)\n• presentations from NIBR scientists\n• lab visits\n• depar
 ture to Lausanne around 6PM\nWe are looking for PhD students and postdocs 
 from EPFL and UNIL performing research in these areas:\n1. Immunity and in
 flammation\n2. Microbiota\n3. Stem cells\n4. Epigenetics\n5. Oncology\n6. 
 Human genetics\n7. Next generation sequencing and genomics\n8. Proteomics\
 n9. Neuroscience\n10. Receptors and ligands\n11. Organ regeneration\n12. P
 hysiology of disease\n13. Biosensors\nThe registration deadline is the 20t
 h of October 2014\, 12:00. The organizing committee\, together with review
 ers from Novartis and external research institutes\, will select participa
 nts for (poster) presentations based on their abstracts. The results of th
 e selection will be communicated by November 10th\, 2014. To ensure the se
 lection of the best talks and speakers\, 8 abstracts will be invited for a
  pre-selection (10 min short-talk) that will take place on the 24th of Nov
