DESCRIPTION:Alexandre Schmid\, EPFL\nResearch in bio-electronics has recen
tly moved its focus from the pure interface towards full systems\, potenti
ally operating in closed-loop with some specific parts of the human nervou
s system. This research has become a transdisciplinary domain gathering co
mpetences in bio-electric interfacing\, analog and system microelectronics
  and radio-frequency electronics\, bio-medical signal processing\, packagi
ng\, neuroscience and neurocomputing towards the goals of gaining a better
understanding of the sane and malfunctional brain activity as well as pro
viding the foundation of therapeutic tools and neuroprosthetic systems.\nT
his workshop aims at gathering experts from the National Chiao Tung and Na
tional Cheng Kung Universities\, TW\, with experts from Switzerland and mo
re specifically participant of the nano-tera.ch program and from EPFL to p
resent their recent research results\, foster collaborative discussions\,
and provide a tutorial venue for researchers and PhD students.
