 as born in London in 1967 and grew up in the west of Ireland. He studied a
 t the Dublin Institute of Technology and University College Dublin\, where
  he graduated. In 1991 he founded his practice and since worked extensivel
 y in residential\, commercial and public building\, winning several AAI an
 d RIAI awards. In 2003 he received the Corus/BD Young Architect of the Yea
 r distinction. In 2000 he was appointed to design the inaugural Irish Pavi
 lion for the 7th International Architecture Biennale in Venice. He also to
 ok part in the Irish group show for the 2006 Architecture Biennale and in 
 2010 he was also selected to present his work as part of the main exhibiti
 on of the 2010 Venice Biennale. The work of Tom dePaor has been published 
 and exhibited widely.about 5x3\nThe 5x3 is a cycle of open lectures which 
 aims to present individual practical approaches of architects from differe
 nt European countries. Each semester 5 offices are invited to give a confe
 rence.  Each office presents 3 of their projects: the very first one and 
 two others. Those 3 projects are like milestones that should represent the
  parcours of the office. The insight into the different working methods an
 d the story behind the formation of the office provides a good opportunity
  to learn about the different ways to start and lead an architectural offi
 ce. The 5x3 lectures are organized by EAST/EPFL in collaboration with the 
 Forum d’Architecture de Lausanne. △
