DESCRIPTION:Prof. Cécile Hébert\, EPFL\nBio: Cécile Hébert is Director
of the Interdisciplinary Center for Electron Microscopy\, as well as the
Laboratory of Electron Spectrometry and Microscopy.\nThe Titan Themis\, ve
ry recently installed at CIME\, EPFL is a “double-Cs corrected\, monochr
omated transmission electron microscope”… But what does this mean? I w
ill place the instrument in the perspective of the historical development
of electron microscopy\, a field that is by no means “mature”\, if by
that one understands that it is no longer subject to development and evolu
tions. The capabilities of the machine will be presented briefly\, with ex
amples – both from literature and from results obtained on our instrumen
 t.
