  my talk I'll give a gentle introduction into\nthe Khovanov-Lauda diagramm
 atic  approach to 2-categories\nand explain their relationship to link ho
 mology theories.\nIn the second part I'll present our new results computin
 g the Hochschild homology of these\n2-categories and discuss their applica
 tions to annular Khovanov homology.
