DESCRIPTION:Fondation Leenaards\nThe Leenaards Foundation supports transla
 tional medical research at the University Hospitals of the Lake Geneva Reg
 ion carried out in collaboration with other academic institutions. The aim
  is to strengthen links between clinical and basic research.\nFor the call
  2016\, the amount available is CHF 1.5 million to be distributed between 
 2-3 major and innovative project(s) (Prix Leenaards 2016).\nIn case of sup
 port by the Foundation\, the team(s) will be free to plan the use of he fu
 nds within a 3 years period. The Price is not renewable\nThe project will 
 investigate a clinical problem from an original and innovative angle\, lin
 king it to a component of advanced basic research\, be it experimental res
 earch\, bioinformatics or epidemiological analyses. The proposal must desc
 ribe a complete and innovative project. However\, it may use data or mater
 ials already obtained in the context of preexisting studies.\nPreference w
 ill be given to projects attesting a collaboration within the Lake Geneva 
 regionincluding\, at least\, one of the two academic hospitals\, as well a
 s UNIL\, UNIGE or EPFL\, and possibly\, other Swiss or foreign academic in
 stitutions.Source
