DESCRIPTION:Pascal GONTIER\nThe axis Integrated Design\, Architecture and 
 Sustainability (IDEAS) is a joint initiative of both the Interdisciplinary
  Laboratory of Performance-Integrated Design (LIPID) and Laboratory of Arc
 hitecture and Sustainable Technologies (LAST) of the ENAC School at EPFL. 
 It aims to address an increased integration of the various issues related 
 to sustainable architecture within the framework of the Doctoral program A
 rchitecture & Science of the city (EDAR).\nIn this lecture\, which is orga
 nized within the framework of the IDEAS Module 1 course "Architecture and 
 sustainability: critical approaches"\, Pascal Gontier will present his vis
 ion of sustainable architecture based on his recent works and realizations
 .\nBorn in Paris in 1963\, Pascal Gontier graduated from School of Archite
 cture of Versailles (Paris). He obtained a Post grade diploma from Ecole p
 olytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne in Architecture and sustainable develo
 pment\, and a European Master in Architecture and sustainable development 
 ((EPFL\, Architecture et Climat Université de Louvain\, Greco-Ecoles d'ar
 chitecture de Toulouse et Montpellier\, Architectural Association of archi
 tecture - Londres). In 1997\, he creates the Atelier Pascal Gontier. His a
 pproach has always been grounded in a fascination with innovation and expe
 rimentation as well as a strong commitment to and major expertise in susta
 inable development. Pascal Gontier is also professor in the Architecture S
 chool of Paris Malaquais.
