DESCRIPTION:Konsta Särkimäki\, Aalto University\, Finland\nASCOT is a Mo
nte Carlo orbit-following code for studies of fast ions\, impurities\, run
away electrons\, and other minority species. It solves the kinetic equatio
n in toroidal geometries where both magnetic field and wall collision mode
l can be 3D. The code contains MHD effects\, Coulomb collisions\, and gene
rators for NBI and fusion alpha particles. This presentation outlines the
main features of ASCOT and its applications.
