 olar cells have been produced and analysed for more than 20 years at the H
 elmholtz Center Berlin (former Hahn-Meitner Institute Berlin). The seminar
  presentation will give an overview of open questions in research and deve
 lopment of these solar cells and how electron microscopy and its related t
 echniques may be important tools for providing answers to these questions.
  Particularly\, recent results from cathodoluminescence measurements combi
 ned with electron backscatter diffraction and electron-beam-induced curren
 t measurements will be presented.
