 Epalinges\, Switzerland\nNumerous neurodegenerative disorders result from 
 the aggregation of proteins that misfold and accumulate as amyloid deposit
 s in the central nervous system. Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is one of thes
 e protein conformational diseases and the leading cause of dementia in the
  Western world. There is to date no cure available or early diagnosis for 
 this devastating neurodegenerative disorder. Despite clinical and experime
 ntal evidence implicating the intestinal microbiota in a number of brain d
 isorders\, its impact on cerebral amyloidosis in AD is not known. During t
 his seminar\, we will disclose our latest preclinical and clinical data to
 wards advancing a novel diagnosis concept and testing novel therapeutic ca
 ndidates for AD based on microbiota profiling and modulation\, respectivel
 y.
