DESCRIPTION:Mr Alain Labastie\nOil production peak is forecasted by many s
 ources for the near future. The presentation will first make a quick histo
 rical review\, will elaborate a little on energy conservation and then wil
 l analyze the different type of oil resources\, which are abundant. Howeve
 r\, transforming these resources into reserves and then production is beco
 ming more challenging. The world oil production cannot increase indefinite
 ly\, but will reach a plateau (not a peak). This is not due to geology\, b
 ut to technology and level of investment. Consequences for the oil and gas
  industry will be discussed.
