DESCRIPTION:Stefan Ramponi\nLighting is experiencing today its second cope
rnican revolution : 136 years after the discovery of the incandenscent fil
ament bulb\, lighting becomes digital. This revolution opens a new era whe
re lighting not only becomes much more energy efficient but also can adapt
to almost any constraints. But what good is this revolutionary technology
if our understanding of lighting remains stuck in the 20th century ? Inte
lligent lighting design is the bridge from analog to digital lighting.\nGr
aduated as IT engineer\, Stefan Ramponi starts its professinal life in the
Consumer Goods business where he works on optimizing product design to co
st. In 2004\, he joins the lighting market\, in charge of business develop
ment for lamps and fixtures. After having thouroughly analysed this market
\, he realizes that something is missing : due to the traditional structur
e of the market\, there is no link between available technologies and end-
user requirements. In 2010\, he decides to found ILICO - Intelligent LIght
ing COmpany to create the missing bridge between those two worlds.\nThe ax
is Integrated Design\, Architecture and Sustainability (IDEAS) is a joint
initiative of both the Interdisciplinary Laboratory of Performance-Integra
ted Design (LIPID) and Laboratory of Architecture and Sustainable Technolo
gies (LAST) of the ENAC School at EPFL. It aims to address an increased in
tegration of the various issues related to sustainable architecture within
the framework of the Master Cycle in Architecture\, Civil and Environment
al Engineering\, as well as the Doctoral program Architecture & Science of
the city (EDAR).\nA light lunch will be served during the presentation. F
or logistic aspects\, please let Joëlle Eaves know of your participation
 before Monday 05 October noon.
