DESCRIPTION:Sebastien Gros\nDeploying fast Nonlinear Model Predictive Cont
 rol requires carrying out numerical simulations of the system dynamics at 
 very low computational times\, while generating their sensitivities. When 
 the system dynamics are described via implicit Ordinary-Differential Equat
 ions\, or Differential-Algebraic Equations\, the numerical simulations mus
 t be carried out via implicit integrators. Computational speed then hinges
  on exploiting the structure of the DAEs in the linear algebra underlying 
 the integrator. In the first part of this talk\, some recent research resu
 lts on this topic will be summarised\, up to the most recent contributions
 . In the second part\, recent research on the deployment of Real-time Econ
 omic NMPC on wind turbine control will presented.\nBio: Sébastien Gros ha
 s obtained his PhD degree from EPFL in 2008\, on the topic of “Neighbour
 ing Extremals for Optimisation and Control”. In 2011\, he has joined MLS
 -Control\, a group based at Strathclyde university\, UK\, under the superv
 ision of Pr. Leithead \, delivering industrial R&D for the wind industry. 
 Sébastien has then joined the university of KU Leuven\, Belgium\, for a p
 ost-doc with Pr. M. Diehl\, where he worked on various aspects of real-tim
 e NMPC. He then joined Chalmers University of Technology in Göteborg\, Sw
 eden as an assistant Pr. in 2013. His current main research focus is optim
 al control for energy-related applications.
