DESCRIPTION:Moritz Diehl\nThe talk reviews numerical approaches to approxi
 mate (a) the propagation of uncertainty and (b) the feedback policies in n
 onlinear dynamic systems -­‐   both preferably in a conservative fash
 ion. We review and extend results from linear system theory and discuss ex
 tensions to the case of nonlinear systems that satisfy Lipschitz bounds on
  their nonlinearity.  We present linearization based approaches as a part
 icularly useful heuristic. Their computational efficiency is significantly
  affected by the way higher order derivatives are generated\, and we discu
 ss the advantages and disadvantages of forward mode\, reverse mode\, and L
 yapunov differential equation (LDE) based approaches\, and present numeric
 ally efficient discretization schemes for LDE. We finally make a connectio
 n   between   robust   optimization   and   stability   optimi
 zation   and   show   how   to solve periodic stability optimizati
 on problems for nonlinear systems with parameterized feedback policies num
 erically by use of LDE. \nThe talk presents joint work with Boris Houska\
 , Joris Gillis and Greg Horn.
