DESCRIPTION:Photonics is extremely widespread on the EPFL campus\, with ac
 tivities ranging from fundamental research to applications in metrology\, 
 optical communications\, sensing and imaging. Every year this cosmopolite 
 community gathers during the EPFL Photonics Day organized by the Doctoral 
 Program in Photonics.\n\nDifferent speakers will share research highlights
  in photonics from EPFL and further away. During the buffet lunch\, each P
 hD candidate enrolled in the Doctoral Program in Photonics will present he
 r/his research with a poster.\n\nThe EPFL Photonics Day is for everyone: s
 tudents\, PhD students\, researchers at every level and all those interest
 ed by photonics. Participation is free and includes lunch\; registration i
 s mandatory before Monday November 2 on the website photonics.epfl.ch .
