DESCRIPTION:Program Description\nThe CRI Irvington Postdoctoral Fellowship
  Program supports qualified young scientists at leading universities and r
 esearch centers around the world who wish to receive training in cancer im
 munology.\nA panel of scientists drawn from our Scientific Advisory Counci
 l rigorously evaluates each candidate\, the intended sponsor and training 
 environment\, and the nature and feasibility of the proposed project.\nThe
  Institute seeks hypothesis-driven\, mechanistic studies in both immunolog
 y and tumor immunology. The applicant and sponsor must clearly state the p
 otential of the proposed studies to directly impact our understanding of t
 he immune system’s role in cancer risk\, tumor initiation\, progression\
 , metastasis\, host response to tumors and/or the treatment of cancer.Elig
 ibility Criteria\n		Applicants for the CRI Irvington Postdoctoral Fellowsh
 ip Program must be working in areas directly related to cancer immunology.
  An eligible project must fall into the broad field of immunology and must
  show relevance to solving the cancer problem. Proposals that do not encom
 pass both these areas will not be considered.\n	\n		Applicants must have a
  doctoral degree by the date of award activation and must conduct their pr
 oposed research under a sponsor who holds a formal appointment at the host
  institution.\n	\n		Applicants with 5 or more years of relevant postdoctor
 al experience are not eligible\, with the exception of M.D. applicants\, w
 ho should not include years of residency in this calculation.\n	\n		Only i
 n exceptional circumstances will applicants who have already spent 3 or mo
 re years in a sponsor’s laboratory by the start date of fellowship be co
 nsidered for a fellowship award.\n	\n		The fellowship can be performed in 
 the United States or abroad\, but must take place at a non-profit institut
 ion. There are no citizenship restrictions.\n	\n		Only one fellow per spon
 sor may apply per application round\, and faculty sponsors may not have mo
 re than three CRI-supported fellows at any time.\n\nFor more details\, vis
